Haag Brown Commercial of Jonesboro is building a new headquarters as part of a planned office park designed to encourage exercise and activity.

The commercial real estate firm on Tuesday announced The Reserve at Hill Park, an office park inside the 38-acre, multi-use Hill Park Development. Hill Park, whose anchor tenants include Ritter Communications and Stephens Inc., is in Windover Park area south of East Highland Drive and east of Browns Lane in Jonesboro.

Haag Brown envisions The Reserve as a 27-acre office development with a biking and running trail, 3-acre manmade lake, dock and pavilion. Workers in the park would be able to run, bike and boat just outside their offices.

"Hill Park had a lot of untapped potential and we wanted to get the project kicked off," said Greg Haag, a principal at Haag Brown Commercial. "What better way to do so than investing ourselves in the project and building our own office?"

Haag plans to build a 6,000 to 8,000-SF headquarters by March 1. The completion date includes the office itself as well as the outdoor amenities for the entire park.

Haag said accounting firm Jones & Co. of Jonesboro will also build at the park, but there's no set timeline for development.

According to Haag Brown Commercial Principal Josh Brown, the idea for the firm's new office came during a visit to Bozeman, Montana, when he saw a similar office park where people were running on a trail during their lunch break and eating outside.

"Hopefully this will promote exercise and promote activity," Brown said.

Brown said he hopes to have up to 10 more corporate office tenants in the space in the next five to 10 years.
